The winners of the GDTfoto competition have been announced, a competition that I didn't even know existed. But there is a lot of creative stuff in there so well worth a look. With the winning image being very different and good as long as you don't mind a bit of blood!

  1. Lovely shot - it reminds me of a synchronised swimmer performing for an audience:-)
BTW, I spotted a comment of yours on BirdingUK asking about owls in the area (I'm based in Reading).
I'm no expert on big birds (more of a garden bird/insect spotter), but I do know that Moor Copse nature reserve at Tidmarsh has Owls (Little & Tawny, and occasionally a Barn).

You may want to take a look at and ask, as there are a couple of people who know the local area quite well and do look out for the big birds.

  2. Louise,
Thank you for your kind words. Moor Copse looks like a good place especially as I pass it to go and look for kites so hopefully expect some pictures soon.

    Thank you for the tip.

  3. Lovely image Liam, beautiful look and light through the wings well done, great Blog
